Since 2012, JOSHUA'S has been a destination for readers seeking thoughtful stories about craftsmanship, artistry, design, style and purposeful living.

Originally launched as a bi-annual print publication celebrating aspirational lifestyles, it evolved into a digital title with an opportunity to redefine what luxury publishing could become. WWWonder was tasked with reimagining the magazine for the modern reader, preserving its editorial heritage while creating an experience built for today's digital behaviours. The result is an award-winning luxury lifestyle publication that combines beautiful storytelling, intelligent technology and editorial craftsmanship to inspire a new generation of ambitious readers.

Challenge

Luxury publishing has changed dramatically over the past decade. Readers increasingly discover inspiration through social media, yet many digital magazines still replicate the conventions of print rather than embracing the opportunities of the web.

JOSHUA'S needed to retain the editorial quality and considered storytelling that had defined the publication since 2012 while evolving into a platform capable of competing for attention in a digital-first world. The challenge was to create an experience that felt unmistakably premium without becoming static or inaccessible. Every interaction, page and editorial system needed to encourage exploration while reflecting the same principles found within the publication itself—craftsmanship, artistry, design, style and meaningful discovery.

Rather than redesigning a website, WWWonder set out to redefine how a luxury lifestyle magazine should exist online.

Approach

Our approach centred on respecting JOSHUA'S editorial heritage while challenging the assumptions of digital publishing. We retained the publication's commitment to thoughtful journalism but rebuilt the experience around how modern audiences actually consume inspiration.

This led to the creation of a completely new editorial ecosystem. A refined visual identity, bespoke typography, intelligent content hierarchy and immersive layouts gave every article the presence of a beautifully designed magazine. Alongside the editorial design, we introduced new product features including dynamic colour-changing interfaces, "Always Fresh" content surfacing and calendar integration to encourage deeper engagement and repeat visits.

Behind the scenes, the entire technology stack was rebuilt, creating a faster, more scalable publishing platform capable of supporting continual editorial evolution without compromising design quality.

Process

The transformation began by redefining JOSHUA'S editorial positioning as a contemporary luxury lifestyle title built around five enduring themes: Craftsmanship, Artistry, Design, Style and Encounters. These pillars informed every creative and technical decision, creating consistency across branding, content and user experience.

From there, we developed a refined visual identity, editorial systems, digital layouts and interaction models that elevated every story. Simultaneously, we rebuilt the publication's infrastructure, streamlining content management, improving performance and optimising the platform for search visibility.

The result was more than a redesign—it was the creation of a complete digital publishing framework capable of supporting future editorial growth while remaining true to the publication's original philosophy of inspiring ambition through beautifully crafted storytelling.

Since relaunch, the publication has significantly improved its search visibility while receiving international recognition for its design through Awwwards Honours.
